Strengthening Stairwells

   Stairwells are the inclined section of stairs. The structure is one of several stringers that supports a series of steps connecting platforms.

   Areas of use:

   In industrial, cultural-social, public and residential buildings with reinforced concrete stairwells that have insufficient load-bearing capacity for active operation or shear forces in seismic and static loads.

   Method of strengthening stringers:

   Single-piece, horizontal strips of unidirectional FibArm Tape are applied to the entire length on the lower plane of the bent element (in the area of the stringer’s stretching). The number of layers is determined based on the calculations of the load-bearing capacity and the delamination check.  U-shaped stirrups of unidirectional composite material FibArm Tape are applied near the stringer support area to take transverse forces. 


   Method of strengthening hollow-core floor slabs:

   1. Strips of unidirectional composite material FibArm Tape are applied horizontally along the entire length of the lower plane of the slab lengthwise. The width space is no more than 2h of the slab.. The number of layers is determined based on the calculations of the load-bearing capacity and the delamination check.

   2. Transverse strips of unidirectional FibArm Tape are applied to the support area of the slab to provide added stability and rigidity.
