Beam and bar strengthening

   Beams (bars) are load-bearing building elements in buildings and other structures that take the load from other load-bearing elements of building structures (second-order beams, slabs, walls, columns, and posts). Most often, reinforced concrete structures are beams with square or rectangular shapes. As for the material from which they are made, either heavy or lightweight concrete with reinforcement bars is used.

   Areas of use:

   In buildings of industrial, cultural and public use with reinforced concrete bolts with their insufficient bearing capacity torque and lateral force under seismic and static loads

   Strengthening method:

   Strengthening of reinforced concrete beams with a section width of more than 300 mm:

   1. Single-piece strips of FibArm Tape composite material are adhered horizontally along the entire length onto the lower plane of the bent element (on the area of the beam's tension). The number of layers is determined based on the calculations of the load-bearing capacity and a delamination check.

   2. U-shaped stirrups made of composite material FibArm Tape are applied on the support zones of the beam with the purpose of accepting transverse forces.

   The reinforcement of ceiling beams with a section width of less than 300 mm:

   1. Single-piece strips of unidirectional composite material FibArm Tape are adhered horizontally along the entire length on the lower plane of the bent element, with a bend to the sides. The number of layers is determined based on the calculations of the load-bearing capacity and a delamination check.For additional structural rigidity, horizontal bands are installed along the sides of the beam (crossbar).

   2. U-shaped stirrups made of composite material FibArm Tape are applied on the support zones of the beam with the purpose of accepting transverse forces.
